Right next to Utrecht Centraal you can find the big shopping mall Hoog Catharijne. with an average of 265000 visitors per day and the number of tracks going up to 21, Utrecht Centraal, or UCS for short, will be the start of your next trip through the Netherlands.

Have you noticed that tracks 6, 10 and 13 have been skipped at UCS? Though, this is not out of superstition. Tracks 10 and 13 do exist, but they are not placed directly next to a platform. They are just there for freight trains and passing trains. And the tracks for 6 were removed later on since they were in the way, but UCS didn’t bother renaming all of the tracks to avoid confusion.
