Final Assignment

In this project you have looked at Jericho from various perspectives. You have found out why people came to live in this region thousands of years ago, the way the citizens of the ‘Oldest City in the World’ used to live, the techniques archaeologists use to excavate the remains of past civilisations, how to protect and preserve cultural heritage for the future, and the way climate changes will affect future life in the Jericho Oasis.
Several times you were asked to delve into the past of the Jericho Oasis and to see life from a historic point of view. You got into character with the people who lived here in the past and expressed their feelings on paper. For the final assignment you will not only need your ability to imagine yourself in a historic period, you also have to show your acting skills or creative mind. To complete the Cultural Heritage and Education – Jericho project you will – in working groups – present your story by means of a theatre play or by curating your own exhibition. Have fun!
