In 2021, the Diversity & Inclusion network was established within the HU. But why actually?
Shamani Berghout (they/them/those) and Ruben van der Weijden (he/him), together with the diversity officer, are responsible for promoting diversity and inclusion in the HU community. “We have already taken good steps within the HU, but we notice that it is sometimes difficult to continue the dialogue about this. Inclusion is not something you do ‘just in a course’, the concept will always continue to develop. We also come up with new insights every day.” says Shamani.
