Within a few seconds, we have an opinion about a new colleague who comes to introduce himself, about students you meet, and also about situations you find yourself in. The formation of that opinion is largely unconscious. Everyone has unconscious biases – unconscious bias – including every teacher or researcher; whether you are a beginner or experienced. Even if you are not aware of this, you act accordingly in practice.

Do you want to think about your unconscious preferences and prejudices together with colleagues? Would you like to reflect on this so that you can deal with diversity better and constructively? Are you curious about a stimulating introduction to the workings of unconscious prejudices? The Teaching & Learning Network of HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht offers you the opportunity to participate in this introduction (1 half-day) for HU teachers in every teaching period to make your education more inclusive.
