Green Talk: Rooted in change

In climate-vulnerable Gambia, educators Abdoulie Jallow and Ida Ndow are driving grassroots climate action through education. Committed to SDG 4 and SDG 13, they focus on tree planting, sustainable vocational training, and empowering local communities. This event offers insights into climate and education initiatives from a non-Western perspective and invites collaboration for a just, sustainable world.

Sustainability Day

Merel Zoomers

Globally, the urgency to address climate change, biodiversity loss and growing inequality is being felt. Teachers and students are increasingly calling for more attention to these themes in the curriculum and research at higher education institutions. On Sustainability Day, we look together at how we can further shape our sustainable ambitions.

Every year, we organise a plenary programme, workshops, a Green Market and a festive closing at the Sustainability Square.

What’s in it for you? Join our Green Market and discover various companies and activities. Score some free clothing or bring your old clothes in at the clothing swap or bring your broken items to get them fixed at Repair Cafe!

Date: 30th of September 2025
Time: 9:00 – 17:00 (Green Market 11:00 – 16:00)
Location: Padualaan 101 , Duurzaamheidsplein
