Call for Video Posters & Video Poster Competition at TUAS
The call and the competition was arranged as part of the national UAS Days 2013 in Turku, and the videos were premiered at the event, and the videos were premiered at the event. The noteworthy thing about the video posters was that they were produced via an exceptional process. The videos were:
- proposed by the participants who answered the initial call last autumn (the call was sent to all universities of applied sciences in Finland as well as all CARPE partners)
- chosen to be produced by Turku University of Applied Sciences
- scripted by the participants with support from TUAS
- shot on location and edited by TUAS.
The idea behind this pilot project was to find new ways to bring forward RDI results. The videos were produced with no costs for the participants, and in such a way that both the participants and TUAS would have rights to use them as wished after the competition was over.
The video poster “Curriculum for the Entrepreneur of the Future” from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences was chosen as the Best Video Poster of UAS Days 2013. The jury of the competition included representatives from ARENE (Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences) and also a student representative. From the jury of four people, two found the mentioned video poster as the best one. According to the jury, the video poster brings forward new thinking about the roles of students and teachers alike. Enhancing independent thinking and the students’ own insights are emphasised in the learning processes. The manner of representation is clear, and the topics are illustrated effectively.
The Award was handed out by Geri Bonhof, President of HU University of Applied Sciences, on behalf of TUAS.
