The vision of HU and the role of Network D&I

The vision on D&I of the HU is “that everyone feels at home at Hogeschool Utrecht.

Diversity brings us new ideas, exciting discussions, surprising perspectives, and often unexpected solutions. We give each other space. We do this by working towards an inclusive, accessible university of applied sciences where every student and every employee feels safe and at home. Knows oneself, is given equal opportunities, belongs, matters, and contributes. We rely on each other’s qualities and profession and encourage development. Our door is open to everyone. Every talent counts! By working on our accessible, safe, and promising work and study environment, we contribute to the well-being and happiness of our students and employees.” (source: HU vision document…)

Role of Network D&I

The Network Diversity & Inclusion contributes to the creation of this open and promising community at HU, in which everyone is welcome, feels safe, is equal, matters belong and can be themselves. We do this by making the importance of diversity and inclusion visible within the HU, raising awareness about it, and inspiring and connecting people.

Various committees are active within the Network Diversity & Inclusion. Together we try to initiate and maintain a movement by placing themes around diversity and inclusion on the agenda and making them visible throughout the HU organization, by sharing expertise, providing support and advice, organizing activities, and where possible, offering instruments. We work closely with existing initiatives, institutes, services, and knowledge centers, and we seek dialogue with everyone to contribute ideas. In this way, we try to strive together for an inclusive society and an inclusive university of applied sciences.
