Online modules for improving mental resilience

Worrying, low spirits, a negative self-image or stress: these are but a few of the many – relatively minor – mental health-related issues that you may run into as a student. Do you want to set to work on your mental resilience? Feel free to participate in one of the online modules offered through Mirro by HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht.

Do you feel like talking with someone about your mental health-related issues? Read further at this page about the possibility for personal counselling at the HU.

At this page you find an overview of what online modules are available. Or go directly to the dashboard of Mirro. Naturally, any information you provide will be treated with confidentiality. The online modules can be followed anonymously and free of charge.

Personal counselling

Do you feel like talking with someone after following a module? Or do you have specific concerns about something? Within the HU, we have a number of staff members standing by who can support you with advice, counselling or facilities that you require in the context of your studies.

To start, there are a number of people you can turn to within your own programme: your study career coach, your learning team supervisor, your coach or your mentor. You can also make an appointment with the student counsellor to discuss your matter and jointly determine which options there may be in terms of help or support. To get a pretty good idea of which support is offered within the HU, check this website.

To schedule an appointment with a student counsellor, please send an email to decanaat@hu.nl or – if you’re studying in Amersfoort – to decanaatHUA@hu.nl. We will try to answer your email as quickly as possible. You can also make an appointment via our appointment hotline 088-4813322, which can be reached from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.

What is availabe regarding e-health?

You will find an overview of all modules at the dashboard of Mirro.

You can use these modules to gain a better grip on feelings like anxiety, preoccupationsombreness and stress – Covid-related or otherwise. But we can also support you with issues like grief, financial worries or susceptibility to gaming addiction or alcohol abuse. We offer extra modules for people who provide non-paid care or have a chronic condition. And finally, the programme includes modules for dealing with feedback and conflicts, or successfully working towards changes in your life.

Each module comes with handles that you can use to prevent incipient complaints from getting worse.
