Project and team

We are a group of HU colleagues (mainly teachers) with a passion for and knowledge about sustainability in education. From September 2022 to July 2024, we worked on a framework for embedding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in education. With this framework, we show what the HU means by sustainable education and a sustainable transition. In addition, you will find inspiration here to get started in a practical way with integrating sustainability into your education. This website contains explanations, tips, tools, a sustainability monitor and examples so that the study programme can easily get started with sustainable development.

The assignment to develop this conceptual framework comes from the Steering Group Sustainable Together. Around the summer of 2022, after a period of orientation and knowledge exchange on sustainability, it designed a guiding working model. She has asked us to load this further into content.

We did this based on a development-oriented approach in which co-creation and inspiring each other were central. Many HU colleagues have given us feedback in the course of our process and have contributed ideas to us in individual conversations and in workshops we organized. We use the experiences of colleagues and international literature to tell the story and are grateful to everyone who has enriched our thought process.

This website and all the materials you can find here are the end product of our project. We hope that this is not the end stage, but rather the beginning of a HU-wide movement in which we will apply, sharpen, supplement and enrich the developed framework and material with great examples from all sectors.

We will continue to travel on this journey.
