Students want to feel at home in the HU in general, and their institute and degree programme in particular. They want to undertake activities together with their peers, have the freedom and scope to develop themselves, enjoy equal opportunities and also be supported in these endeavours. By making funding available for these objectives, the HU hopes to facilitate initiatives that promote community building and increase student involvement.
The budget for this programme is an outcome of the quality agreements made after the basic student grant was cancelled a number of years ago. This budget is used to support incidental and structural initiatives that contribute to community building and/or student involvement.
As of 2019, the programme has a budget of €2 million, which will be increased annually to a total budget of €4 million by 2024.
