You can participate in a minor from an other higher educational institution in The Netherlands, or you can go abroad. Below, both options are explained.
I want to participate in a minor in The Netherlands
If you want to participate in a minor from an other higher educational institution in The Netherlands, you can choose from the minor offer at Kies op Maat.
Enrolment Kies op Maat
On every module page on www.kiesopmaat.nl, you’ll find a button marked ‘enroll’. Click it to generate a learning agreement (if the enrolment timeslot is open) and fill it out as complete as possible. You also have to obtain permission from your exam board. To get this, you have to file a request via HUKAS. When you are granted permission (this means that the exam board has signed and stamped the learning agreement), then send the complete learning agreement to the institution that offers the minor course. You’ll find the address on the learning agreement. Wait until your host institution approves your request before you go ahead and register for the minor course. They will tell you how to do it.
Please note: the enrolment procedure for a minor course from an other higher educational institution happens completely via Kies op Maat and not via Osiris! Enrolling for a minor course in Osiris is only possible for HU students who want to participate in a HU minor course.
Not sure yet if you want to participate in a HU minor course or a minor course outside HU?
Then it’s wise to enrol for a HU minor course as well. If you decide to not participate in a HU minor course, it is possible to disenrol.
The (dis)enrolmentprocedure for HU minor courses (deadlines included) is explained here.
How do the credits for a completed KOM minor end up in Osiris?
Submit a request to the examination board via HUKAS to enter your obtained points. Please attach a copy of the learning agreement. You must submit the original document (certificate or list of grades) that you received from the educational institution where you took the KOM minor during the walk-in consultation hours of the examination board. You can see when the walk-in consultation hours are on the website of the examination board of your institute.
You can also choose a different route. Then you send an email to the examination board of the educational institution where you took the KOM minor, with the request to email a copy of your grade list to your examination board at HU. Do not forget to include the email address of the examination board of your institute in your email. Then you can be sure that your list of grades ends up in the right place. The examination board of your institute makes sure that your results are registered in Osiris.
On the website of the examination board you will find more information about the walk-in consultation hours and the email address of the examination board of your institute.
I want to participate in a minor abroad
If you want to participate in a minor abroad, you can visit the website Go International. If you have questions you can send them to the International Office via io@hu.nl.
